The 2013
Subaru WRX and STI may be audibly loud, but depending on the color, aren’t always visually loud. Subaru has a Halloween-themed fix for that: a pair of limited-run models painted in black and orange that made their debut at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show this week.
The Halloween-inspired color scheme is the only upgrade to the Subaru sedans outside is an “Orange and Black” custom paint job using Tangerine Orange paint and jet-black wheels, fender badging, decals, and mirror caps. Inside,
the WRX gains the dark interior trim and black headliner from the STI, while both cars receive orange stitching on the seats, doors, shifter, and floor mats.
The WRX’s and WRX STI’s mechanicals stay the same. That means both cars are powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four, producing 265 hp and 244 lb-ft of torque in the WRX and 305 hp and 290 lb-ft in the STI. Both cars power all four wheels; the WRX uses a five-speed manual and the STI gets six forward gears.
Just 200 of the special-edition WRX sedans will be produced. If you want one of the hotter WRX STI sedans, the chances of buying one are even slimmer, as only 100 of them will be made. Pricing for the special-edition models has yet to be announced, but the 2013 Subaru WRX sedan starts at $26,565 and the 2013
Subaru WRX STI sedan starts at $35,065 (both prices with destination).
