Audi 2012 A6 - This is a new Supercar version

Audi has officially unveiled the all new 2012 A6 sedan which is all set to take on the might of the new BMW 5-Series and Mercedes Benz’s E-Class. The Audi A6 is an executive luxury car. It is available in two bodywork configurations, the saloon and the station wagon, the latter marketed by Audi as the Avant.  It is heavily influenced by the Audi A8 (D4), pulling elements from its exterior details. The A6 shares its interior, platform, and powertrain with the Audi A7 four door fastback coupe, which had been released shortly before also in 2011. Compared to the A8 and A7, the A6 has the most aggressive front fascia and LED headlights. The new A6 increased its wheelbase by nearly 3 inches (76 mm) and its width by 0.7 inches (18 mm). The redesign also decreased the car's drag coefficient to 0.26 Cd.The 2012 Audi A6 looks very similar to the previous version, however, there is much improving over its predecessor.

Much of the body of the new Audi A6 consists of aluminum and high-tech steels, rendering it exceedingly light, stiff and safe. State-of-the art design methods and materials ensure extremely low interior noise levels. Precision tuning of all components and systematic hydraulic damping in the axle and drivetrain bearings provide excellent vibrational comfort.

Designed heavily on the lines of the new A8, the 2012 A6 sedan measures 4.92 meters (16.14 ft) long, 1.87 meters (6.14 ft) in width, it is only 1.46 meters (4.79 ft) tall and has a wheelbase of 2.91 meters (9.55 ft). The harmonious proportions – the long engine hood, the short overhangs, and the sweeping roofline – embody a character of athletic elegance.

The roomy interior of the new Audi A6 echoes the sinewy style of the exterior. The salient element is the "wrap-around" - an inlay encircling the driver and the front-seat passenger. The elegantly curved dash panel places the driver at the center of the interior.

Two engines are available in the 2012 Audi A6: a turbocharged four-cylinder in the front-wheel drive 2.0T model and a supercharged V6 in the all-wheel drive 3.0T. Although it may not be every buyer’s first choice, the A6 2.0T will likely appeal to shoppers who are looking for good fuel economy, but don’t need the extra power or all-wheel drive.

In true Audi fashion, the midsize A6 gives you a lot for a very competitive price. One of the A6's primary strengths is its deluxe cabin. Materials are first-rate, and the overall design is nothing short of class-leading. Its winter-weather capability is another plus as the A6, like other Audis, is available with all-wheel drive.

But the car's most compelling asset concerns value. In terms of overall quality, the Audi A6 is right up there with other midsize luxury cars, but it typically costs thousands less. With base A6 2.0T models starting at roughly $42,000, the A6 undercuts many competitors in terms of price. However, the trade-off is that while the base A6 saves you cash and offers better fuel economy, it’s also the least powerful car in the segment. A used A6 represents an even more affordable proposition, though these examples lack the athleticism of its contemporary rivals. The Audi 2012 A6 benefits from enhanced performance and increased driver engagement, making it a top choice in the segment.

This 2012 Audi A6 puts a smile on your face when you steer into a corner. And it puts one there again when you floor the throttle at the exit. This all-wheel-drive sedan is arguably a more entertaining car to drive than any of its rear-drive rivals.
