Labour unions may picket Paris Show

The announcement from Renault this week that it would have to cut 6,000 jobs across Europe was met by a one-day labour union strike and it's thought that another could be staged at the site of the high-profile Paris Show.
The Paris Motor Show opens its doors to the world's media on October 2nd and it would be an embarrassing situation for the organisers and Renault - one of the show's biggest exhibitors - if a protest took place.
Renault isn't the only car maker planning cuts to offset slow sales. Ford wants to suspend one shift at its plant in Valencia, Spain, which would mean laying off 1,300 of the 7,000 workers on site, while both GM and SEAT would also like to reduce output from their Spanish factories.
