Recall Up Date: 2012-2013 Scion iQ

The Problem: An object placed near the front passenger seat track could come into contact with the OCS weight sensor cables, which could then damage the cables when the front passenger seat is slid back and forth. Damaged cables may lead to improperly activated airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners or the airbags not deploying as designed

The Fix: Starting in early December, Toyota will notify owners to bring in their affected vehicles for inspection and installation of new protective covers for the cables. For more information, owners may contact Toyota at 866-707-2466.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: The recall covers approximately 11,200 Scion iQ models. The automaker says that no crashes or injuries related to the recall have been reported.
